Internship Program Highlights

 
 

Mentorship and Leadership Training

Interns will be mentored by the leadership team at Garden Learning Center. They'll glean valuable, practical skills & experience for college applications, work resumes, and future internships. Students will have opportunities to develop custom projects that tap into their strengths and passions.

 
 

Paid Internship

Interns will be paid a stipend of $600.

 
 

Letters of Recommendation

Contingent on performing outstanding work at Garden Learning Center, each intern will receive a strong letter of recommendation at the end of their internship from a member of our leadership team. We value our interns and are committed to supporting them in their career and college aspirations.

 
 

Community Service Hours

Interns have the opportunity to earn community service hours for their participation in Garden Learning Center.

 
 
 

College Credit

College credit approval is subject to the interns’ respective university’s course credit requirement for internships. It is the interns’ responsibility to get this internship pre-approved by their academic advisor.

 

Internship Qualifications

 
  • College & High School students -9th Grade & Up

  • Must be available for the entire semester. Sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6pm

  • Prior experience working with kids/students 

  • Experience in tutoring a plus

 

Internship Roles and Responsibilities

 
  • Attend and participate in all mandatory trainings, meetings, etc.

  • Tutor students from 4th-8th grade in math and language arts

  • Partner with academic coaches in motivating and guiding students

  • Develop leadership skills and teamwork through planning/assisting in enrichment activities, events, and other special projects

  • Assist in prep, setup, and clean up

  • Supervise and engage with students during snack time

  • Cultivate encouraging relationships with students | Serve as positive role model to students
